Last week I returned from 2 weeks in Ubud, Bali after the amazing Awakening the Divine Feminine retreat hosted by the equally amazing Beata Alfoldi of Wild Heart Awakening.
My intention for the retreat was to make a clear path from the old (years of study and other stress) into the new (new business/career/sense of self).
My head and heart are still swirling and processing. 16 fabulous women came together in the spirit of openness and authenticity to share an 8-day journey of the soul. Last week I decided to road-test a couple of juice cleanses currently on the market.

Through my naturopathic training, I became interested in juice cleanses and by second year, had lashed out on “The Angel Juicer.” Twin geared, cold-pressed, all stainless steel (yes, that is a choir of angels you hear singing in the background), it’s the Thermomix of juicers. But to be honest, after a stubborn virus and a busy schedule before heading overseas this week, shopping and prepping kilos of veggies just wasn’t going to happen. I needed quick and simple goodness stat.
Which brings me to guinea pig No. 1:
Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past few years, you can’t have missed the resurgence of the “juice.”
Juice detoxes or fasts or cleanses are by no means new, but it seems social media, and movies like Joe Cross’ Fat Sick and Nearly Dead have propelled the humble juice into a whole new stratosphere.
